Customer reviews explained

What is review automation?

Review automation sends a customer a review request after a chosen event, such as a completed job. It helps the office ask consistently without remembering every message.

Start with the moment the job is finished.

Choose a trigger your team can trust. If a technician marks work complete before the return visit, a request sent at that moment may confuse the customer.

Check how your job software records completion. Choose who receives the message and how you will prevent repeat requests for the same job.

Write a message you would actually send.

Use the customer's name when you have it, identify the company, and include a direct review link. Keep it short.

Example: Hi Alex, thanks for choosing Oak Street Plumbing. If you have a minute, would you leave an honest review of your experience? Here is the link: [your Google review link]. Thanks, Sam.

Those names are examples. Use your own details and check the link on a phone before turning the workflow on.

Ask for an honest review.

Google prohibits incentives in exchange for reviews. Avoid offering discounts or gifts for a rating. Its guidance also encourages businesses to value balanced feedback. Read Google's review request guidance.

Use a consistent request process across customers. Give people a way to raise a problem with the office, and assign someone to read the replies.

Check the first few jobs yourself.

Confirm that the message arrived at a sensible time, used the right name, and opened the correct review page. Watch for duplicate sends and messages going to an old contact.

Review requests belong in your customer follow-up process. PipelineOn's website visitor identification serves an earlier stage: helping you identify more visitors before they enquire.
